The Richmond Mural Project is a yearly event with the goal of creating over 100 murals by world renown talent in the first 5 years alone. The recurrence and solidification of the project throughout this time will establish Richmond as a landmark destination for internationally recognized murals and will create exposure for the city, establishing it as a premier art destination.
From street artists painting on the sides of century-old buildings to a world class ballet company performing contemporary and classic pieces, Richmond offers an art scene like no other.
Through photography and photo illustration, the artists at Alice Blue, ensured that the dancers of The Richmond Ballet literally become the very fabric of the murals throughout the city. Photographs of local street art were edited and digitally re-illustrated, incorporating Richmond Ballet dancers as part of the mural. By combining the photography of the mural artwork, with the fluidity of the dancers, captured in studio, we were able to have the dancers break the plane of the mural artwork.
The campaign has won every type of major award including a Graphis GOLD and being profiled in LeBook.
